LPI Scientific seminar, 07.03.2023

Speaker: Sergeyev Pavel Borisovich (Ph.D., PhD, V.N.S., Laboratory of Innovative Laser Systems of TOP FIAN)
Topic of the report: “Electron beam laser installation of ELA and synthesis of fluorocarbon nanocoats with its help”
Abstract: The ELA installation is designed to study the physics of excimer gas lasers with electron beam excitation, the interaction of laser radiation with matter, radiation and laser strength of materials. Now it is a reliable laser with a generation energy of ~10 J in pulses of about 80 ns at the wavelengths of excimer molecules: 193, 248, 308, 353 nm. To demonstrate the experimental capabilities of the installation, a brief overview of the scientific results obtained on it is given. The main part of the report presents the results of the synthesis of unique fluorocarbon nanocoats on the surface of titanium and leucosapfyre substrates using the radiation of a powerful KrF laser (248 nm) of the ELA installation. These nanocoats have nanohardness, modulus of elasticity and absorption spectra almost like fluorographene, which indicates the prospects of their widest application.
