Tsiolkovsky Readings 26-28.10.23

From October 26 to 28, the International Youth “Tsiolkovsky Readings” were held at the Kirov Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics named after Konstatin E. Tsiolkovsky, in memory of the great Russian scientist and founder of cosmonautics, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky.

The event was attended by the head of the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Professor of the RAS, Andrew Naumov, as well as the scientific director of INASAN, corresponding member of the ras Boris Shustov.

The chairman of the readings was Academician of the RAS, Viktor Savinykh, a Soviet cosmonaut and twice Hero of the Soviet Union, as well as an honorary citizen of Kirov and the Kirov region.

Outstanding representatives of space science, planetariums of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, as well as recognized figures of culture and art, acted as experts.

About 100 schoolchildren and students, 40 experts and 50 mentors took part in the second stage of the event. One of the participants was awarded a special prize from the corps of professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The program of the Readings included the defense of competitive works in 9 sections:

  • “Space exploration”
  • “Space technology and technics”
  • “Aerospace modeling”
  • “Space: medicine and ecology”
  • “History of aviation and space exploration”
  • “Space philosophy”
  • “Science fiction and space”
  • “Author’s films about aviation and space exploration”
  • “Geographic information technologies and remote sensing of the Earth”

Representatives from 21 regions of Russia, as well as a number of foreign countries, took part in the Readings.
