The School of Russian Language, part of the “Basic Schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences”

Project, provided teachers with a unique opportunity to attend popular scientific lectures, held at the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Pushkin Institute. Additionally, they had the chance to visit the Russian State Library during a tour called “Legendary Leninka”. A tour dedicated to the life of poet Sergey A. Yesenin and an introduction to new projects at the Pushkin Institute were also organized, showcasing ongoing developments in the institute’s laboratories.

Thirty-nine Russian language teachers from 24 regions of the Russian Federation, from the Kaliningrad region to the Primorsky Territory, participated in the School’s program. The School opened on November 7th, 2023, with a welcoming speech from the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Academician Stepan N. Kalmykov and the rector of the Pushkin Institute Natalya S. Trukhankovskaya

Among the speakers was also Andrew Naumov – Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and head of the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk, head of the ISAN’s department and the Department of Theoretical Physics named after E.V. Shpolsky at the IPTIS MPSU.

The four-day event was full of engaging lectures by leading scientists, discussions, and interesting tours. Participants emphasized the importance and usefulness of the events, leaving positive feedback and encouraging the organization of an annual School for Russian language teachers. This demonstrates the significance and success of the “Basic Schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences” project and highlights its role in the professional development of Russian language teachers.
