From 18th to 20th of October 2023, in the basic schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) in Kazan were held lectures delivered by Professor and corresponding member of RAS A.V. Naumov. Naumov head of the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk and also he’s head of the department at IPTIS MPSU and the department at ISAN, and is also the chief scientific editor of the journal “Photonics – Photonics Russia.”

The lectures took place in different schools: on October 18th at Gymnasium №7, October 19th at the “Lyceum – Engineering Center,” and October 20th at Gymnasium №19. The content of the lectures was devoted to the history of the development of optics and spectroscopy, as well as the scientific direction of “Photonics.”

During the lectures, students were introduced to the scientific and educational projects of the RAS Department of Physical Sciences, discussing in-demand professions and directions in the development of science and technology. For active participation in the discussion, students received commemorative gifts – books and printed copies of the journal “Photonics.”

The lecture series was organized by the Presidium of RAS as part of a program of scientific popular events for students and teachers of the RAS basic schools.
