Russian Science Day at VDNH 08.02.2024

On February 8th, on Russian Science Day, leading scientists, professors, corresponding members, and academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences from the departments of physical sciences, chemistry and materials sciences, social sciences, agricultural sciences, nanotechnology, and information technology spoke at the International Exhibition-Forum “Russia” at Pavilion 57 of VDNH in the Lecture Hall “Znanie”. The unique lecture marathon was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It’s focused on the most relevant interdisciplinary problems of modern natural sciences.

The most attention was drawn to lectures:

“The future medicine nanotechnologies” by Evgeny Khaidukov – head of the laser biomedicine laboratory, leading researcher of the Institute of Photon Technologies of the Federal Scientific Center “Crystallolography and Photonics RAS” at the Kurchatov Institute and Moscow Pedagogical State University, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, laureate of the Russian President’s Prize in science and innovation for young scientists;

“Microscopic studies and mathematical modeling in biophysics” by Anton Zalygin – head of the Technopark department “Precision optical technologies” at the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk, chairman of the Scientific Methodological Council of the Institute of Biochemical Physics RAS, senior lecturer at Moscow Pedagogical State University, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences;

“Protein biosynthesis in organisms with non-standard genetic code” by Tatiana Egorova, head of the youth laboratory of biophotonics and nanoengineering at Moscow Pedagogical State University, candidate of biological sciences;

“Organic macromolecules and nature-like technologies” by Julia Gorbunova, dean of the faculty of fundamental physical and chemical engineering at Lomonosov Moscow State University, chief researcher at the Institute of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry named after N.S. Kurnakov RAS, doctor of chemical sciences, academician of RAS;

“Photonics – the basis of civilization: what can light do!?” by Andrey Naumov – head of the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk, head of the department at Moscow Pedagogical State University, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, corresponding member and professor of RAS.

The main organizer of the event was the Russian Society «Znanie». The audience was schoolchildren from Moscow and other regions of Russia, as well as their parents, teachers, and educators (in total about 1000 participants). There’s also was an opportunity to visit the exhibition of scientific equipment and scientific-technical developments “Physical and Engineering Laboratory” as part of the project «Nasha Laba» on the exposition “Enlightenment/Decade of Science and Technology,” prepared jointly by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. On February 8th, a delegation from the Coordination Council on Youth Affairs in the scientific and educational spheres of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education visited the exhibition.
