2nd All-Russian Congress of Physics Teachers in “Sirius”: Andrey Naumov’s Lecture on Photonics and Success of the Theoretical Physics Department IPTIS MPSU in Scientific Projects

On August 28-29, the 2nd All-Russian Congress of Physics Teachers was held at the “Sirius” federal territory. One of the participants of this congress was Andrew Naumov, who serves as the head of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LPI RAS) Branch in Troitsk, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and a professor of the RAS.

During the conference, Andrew Naumov has a speak on topic “Photonics: History, Achievements, Perspectives”. The sectional report discussed successful scientific projects based on pedagogical universities. A prominent example was the Institute of Physics, Technology, and Informational Systems of the Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPSU), including the Department of Theoretical Physics named after Edward V. Shpolsky and the Laboratory of Physics of Advanced Materials and Nanostructures. The IPTIS of MPSU is actively developing advanced directions in quantum technologies, photonics, nanotechnology, and medical physics. Various aspects of the IPTIS’ work and its collaboration with other scientific organizations, such as The Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LPI RAS), Russian Scientific Research Center of Surgery named after Boris V. Petrovsky, and Federal Research Center “Crystallography and Photonics” of the RAS, were also discussed.
