NAUKA 0+ in Moscow and Troitsk

In the framework of the “Golden Lecture” series, the head of the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk, head of the Department of Theoretical Physics named after Edward V. Shpolsky at the IPTIS MPSU, corresponding member Andrew Naumov had a lecture. Also, on October 7, he had a lecture at the forum for science teachers in Moscow schools.

As part of the “Golden Lecture” of the All-Russian festival “NAUKA 0+”, Andrew Naumov had an interesting lecture titled “Light technologies and photonics – the basis of modern civilization.” In his presentation, Andrew Naumov told about the achievements and prospects of photonics, optics, and spectroscopy, demonstrating how these technologies have changed the modern world in all spheres of production and daily human life. He also showcased amazing instruments and diverse areas of application of photonics, including astronomy, astronautics, material science, energetics, and medicine.

Program of the event

Natalia Kovalec, Julia Filippova, and Arina Papugaeva are researchers at the Laboratory of Physics of Advanced Materials and Nanostructures at the Department of Theoretical Physics named after Edward V. Spolsky, together with the Faculty of Fundamental Physical and Chemical Engineering of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov (MSU), presented a collection of minerals and meteorites at the festival, belonging to the honorary professor of MPSU Irina V. Razumovskaya. They conducted interesting experiments, talked about the properties of minerals, and helped visitors create their own Solar system bracelet made of natural stones at the master class called “Minerals in a Bracelet.” All this allowed festival participants to expand their knowledge and acquire new skills.

In the Troitsk, the festival takes place from October 10th to October 12th. Traditionally, on the first day, October 10th, the Troitsk Physics Marathon “Step into Science” was launched at the Glinka Children’s Music School. The marathon is a competition of collective project works of schoolchildren, in which teams from schools in Troitsk, as well as other cities (Dubna, Korolev, Zelenograd, Moscow, Obninsk, Dusseldorf) participate. The unswerving chairman of the jury corresponding member of the RAS Andrew V. Naumov greeted the participants from the Russian Academy of Sciences, MPSU, and the LPI RAS. This year, it is planned to introduce the competition into the list of competitions and olympiads, the winners of which receive additional points when entering MPSU and other universities.
