“Scientist’s speech” with the Russian Society “Knowledge”

On September 27, 2023, the head of the LPI RAS, branch in Troitsk, head of the theoretical physics department named after Edward V. Shpolsky at the Moscow Pedagogical State University, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrew Naumov, had a lecture about light technologies and photonics at the Saratov State Technical University named after Yuri A. Gagarin. The meeting took place within the framework of the Russian Society “Knowledge” project and was dedicated to the Decade of Science and Technology, declared by the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

During the lecture, Andrey Naumov told students about the latest achievements of the Russian scientific schools in the field of photonic technologies. He also speak about the directions of scientific researches that available to future specialists in the technical and fundamental fields.

Modern science needs a large influx of active and talented young people, especially in the Decade of Science and Technology. In this context, the “Scientist Speaks” project, launched by the Society “Knowledge” in 2022, has become an important event. Thanks to this project, researchers meet with schoolchildren and talk about their work, trying to attract their attention to science and increase interest in scientific developments and achievements.

The Russian Society “Knowledge” has a rich history, starting with the Soviet public organization founded in 1947. In 2016 it was transformed into the All-Russian public and state educational organization “Russian Society “Knowledge””. In April 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated the need to relaunch the Society on a modern digital platform.
